History
Muskerry Arms
Steeped in history, this building was originally built as the Corkeran’s Hotel. J.F. Corkeran lived nearby in Sunberry House. Subsequently renamed the Muskerry Arms after the Muskerry Tramline which serviced the village of Blarney until the 1930s. It also served as a carriage house which provided accommodation for weary travellers on their journeys to and from Cork city. It was bought by the O’Connor family in 1984 and they still own it today. It is an extremely busy hostelry popular with both locals and tourists.
Vintage Car Museum
From 1966 to 1970, a vintage car museum was housed in the stable-yard (now Centra). At the time it was said to display the finest collection of veteran cars, from the 1899 to 1920 period, in the country.
Horgan’s Gift Shop
The space now occupied by Horgan’s Gift Shop was a tea room in the original coaching inn.
